IPE Real Estate Global Conference & Awards 2024 – the winners

Ivanhoé Cambridge claimed the coveted title at the IPE Real Estate Global Conference & Awards 2024 in Madrid securing the Global Real Estate Investor of the Year award for the second year in a row.

The C$77bn (€52bn) global real estate arm of Canadian institutional investor CDPQ extended the sucess beyond the top honour, with additional wins in the ESG and North America Strategy categories, repeating its achievements from the previous year.

CDPQ won the Real Assets & Infrastructure Investor of the Year trophy.

Dutch pension fund asset manager APG also picked up the award in the ESG category in a tie with the Canadian institution in addition to winning an award for Netherlands in the Regional category.

Oxford Properties doubled down on its success at the awards, winning the Direct Strategy award for the second year running. The firm was also recognised in the Investment in Europe, Investment in North America, and Value-add Strategy categories.

National Pension Service achieved recognition at the awards in several categories. The South Korean pension fund won the Portfolio Construction and Asia-Pacific region awards along with awards in Investment in Asia-Pacific, Listed Strategy and Opportunistic Strategy categories.

Hans Wilhelm Korfmacher, who is retiring as CEO of German pension WPV after 30 years, was handed the Outstanding Industry Contribution trophy.

Each year, IPE Real Assets works in close partnership with the world’s leading investment and asset management firms to deliver the IPE Real Estate Global Awards.

This year’s IPE Real Estate Global Awards attracted over 190 entries across all categories.

From 17 countries around the world, the total market value of the institutional investors that took part was more than €3.1trn, while collectively their real estate assets under management exceeded €419bn. They competed in 36 categories split by theme, region and size.
