While New Jersey remains among the hottest real estate markets in the nation – ranking 3rd for fastest home sales – some counties are now seeing properties linger on the market for at least two months, the latest data from Realtor.com shows.
Homes sold the fastest in Union County within a median of 39 days in January, according to the data. Homes took the longest to sell in Salem County at 83 days. Last year, several counties routinely saw homes sell within a month.
New Jersey homes sold within a median of 56 days of hitting the market in January, the data showed. Compared to December, New Jersey homes remained on the market for four more days. Nationwide, homes sold within a median of days in 69 January.
