Following the usual cooldown Thanksgiving week brings, Manhattan’s luxury home market recovered last week with 17 signed contracts for $4 million or more, an increase of five, according to Olshan Realty’s report on Monday.
Those deals consisted of 11 condos, two co-ops and four townhouses, totaling a weekly sales volume of $150.56 million for the week, according to the report.
The top contract was for an Upper East Side townhouse, which hit the market at the end of September asking $23.5 million. Located on East 75th Street, just half a block from Central Park, the limestone home stands seven stories tall and 19.5 feet wide.
Across its 10,463 square feet, the home has six bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms. Other features include an elevator that goes to every floor and a landscaped roof garden. The home was last purchased in 2002 for $8.25 million and underwent a three-year renovation.
The second-priciest deal of the week was for a Tribeca penthouse asking $20 million, reduced from its June 2022 listing price of $30 million. The condo is a quadruplex that offers 5,500 square feet of living space plus an additional 2,050 square feet of outdoor space. The home has three bedrooms, four bathrooms and two powder rooms. Its roof terrace hosts a suite of amenities, including a 21-foot infinity-edge pool, a hot tub, an outdoor shower and a full kitchen.
The penthouse is located in a boutique building with six units and no amenities.
